After a few years, when the riflescopes of this brand made some good headlines, the company decided to expand the business by producing binoculars and spotting scopes which are again for hunting and shooting.

It won’t be wrong if I say that this company mainly targeted hunters and shooters. However, their binoculars are not as famous as their scopes are. The good thing is that this company has now started producing rangefinders as well.

In 2008, Simmons Company was acquired & purchased by the Bushell Optics company and it now works as a subsidiary of Bushnell. Keep in mind that Bushnell and Simmons have not been merged together. Instead, both work independently with their own brand name.

It is interesting to note that the company did manufacture some of its very first scopes in America. But due to high labor costs, the company had to stop production in the US and shifted its manufacturing to Asian countries especially Japan, and China.

A few years back, the company used to manufacture most of its scopes in Japan. But things are changing now as the Simmons brand is shifting its focus from Japan to the Philippines and China which is supposed to be a wrong call as it can affect the quality of its products.

Simmons rifle scopes are made in China, the Philippines, and Korea. The company has a manufacturing facility in China, where it produces a range of rifle scopes. These manufacturing units help this company to cut down the prices due to lower labor costs.

Simmons also has manufacturing facilities in the Philippines, where it produces some of its popular rifle scopes, including the Aetec and the Prohunter. Keep in mind that no product of Simmons is now being manufactured in the United States.

Not only rifle scopes, but Simmon is also manufacturing binoculars, spotting scopes, and rangefinders in the Philippines and China. I personally believe that those Simmons products that are made in Japan are of high quality. But you will get compromised quality in Chinese or Philippines-made products.
